Final Fantasy 7 follows the actions of a young man, Cloud Strife, as he joins up with the anti-government group named AVALANCHE. The story starts off in midgar which he is hired to help with the bombings of several "Mako Reactors", Reactors that suck out the lifestream(The planets life energy) to use refine as energy. But when Shin-Ra abducts Aerith Gainsborough, Cloud, Tifa Lockhart, and Berret Wallace mount an assult on Shin-Ra headquaters to get her back, where they meet up with Red XIII(Nanaki) and make the startling discovery that the legendary Sephiroth has returned. After a daring escape from midgar they begin traveling the world after Sephiroth in an attempt to keep him, and Shin-Ra,
away from the Promised Land, a land of infinate beauty and peace, and also of Infinant Mako. As they travel they meet up with many people, Yuffie Kisaragi, a ninja and materia hunter from Wutai, Vincent Valentine, an Ex-Turk, Cid Highwind, a Pilot with dreams of going to outer space, and Cait Sith, a cat riding a stuffed moogle he magically brought to life.
